We had an excellent 2023, thanks to our amazing team members, customers, and partners. Here are some of the highlights:
This past year, we completed the launch of our new software, SUDS (Simple User-Friendly Dependable System). The team worked hard to make it a success, and we’re delighted to see the fruits of their labor. We also developed and launched a portal for customers to place their own requests for deliveries, pickups, maintenance and service – we’re excited for this tool that builds on our longstanding tradition of providing prompt, dependable service that makes laundry management easier.
Our sales team continued branching out, attending the National Apartment Association conference for the first time in Atlanta, where they had the opportunity to exhibit at the trade show and network with over 12,000 attendees; we will be participating again this year, when the conference comes to Philadelphia in June. Other event highlights from this year include attending and sponsoring customer and association events and tradeshows across Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Meanwhile, several of our individual team members were also active in local apartment associations. We’re proud of their commitment to these connections.
-
- Scott was nominated for the 2023 Central Virginia RAMMY Awards Supplier of the Year award – and even made it in the top 5 finalists!
- Kelby served as a member of the 2023 Greater Fayetteville Apartment Association Supplier Council and has been selected to represent the committee as chair in 2024.
- Erin served as a voting member on the Central Virginia chapter of the Virginia Apartment Management Associations’ Education and Events committee, as well as on the Supplier Council; she was also elected to serve as chair of the Central Virginia Supplier Council in 2024.
We’re always grateful to be able to give back to the communities where we do business. In 2023, we had the opportunity to donate laundry sets to the Ronald McDonald House at VCU Children’s Hospital, the Shirley T. Frye YWCA shelter in Greensboro, and transitional housing facilities in Newport News. We also had the opportunity to participate in the Cristo Rey Richmond High School Corporate Work Study Program once again, hosting a new group of four interns.
What else? Lots of growth!
-
- We added over 7,500 in-unit machines and 1,500 commercial laundry machines for an overall growth of 12.5% across the company.
- Our team has grown to include 94 members.
- We celebrated multiple 5- and 10-year anniversaries – and even one 25-year anniversary! – for team members across our six branches.
Thank you to our team and to our customers for the continued growth and support year after year. We are looking forward to what 2024 has in store for Automatic!
